The scene is comprised of segments from different imagery that all relate to the life cycle of death. By depicting a rather vibrant scene of India on the Periyar Tiger Reserve in Thekkady, where the land is full of life, the glassy water is marked by dead trees that became pedestals for Cormorants drying their wings. The skull, leaves, and flowers become symbols of this cycle. The boat is an outlier, a vessel or carrier through the space of the scene and the concept of the life cycle.
The connection between the near and far, the familiar and unfamiliar, and seeing experiences from a new perspective.
