Abstract
A component piece made up of several large prints, each with small etched and enameled metal components. The prints vary in scale and disseminate from the ceiling like a bloom, but each is its own autonomous form. The final print is cut out of paper, and looks like a petal or leaf from a distance, but up close the pattern becomes more visible.
The piece explores memory as a form of natural blooming, maturation, germination, and growth. Memories mirror the natural world, and as we share them we are releasing spores of our experience into the world. The memories connect and merge in such a way that where they begin and end are often imperceptible. The color scheme was inspired by the Wyoming landscape.
